GEIM is pleased to welcome Amanda Maria Picelli as our newest postdoctoral researcher. With a solid academic background and experience in research focused on hemosporidian taxonomy, Amanda arrives to add to our knowledge, contribute new scientific perspectives, and strengthen the lines of research developed by the group. Her arrival represents an important step towards the advancement of our projects and the strengthening of collaboration between researchers, students, and institutional partners. Welcome, Amanda! Mini-resume:Graduated in Biological Sciences (Bachelor's and Licentiate degrees) from the São Paulo State University Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2012), holds a master's degree in Environmental Sciences from the Federal University of Tocantins (2015), a doctorate in Zoology from the Federal University of Amazonas (2020), and a postdoctoral degree from the Federal University of Rondônia (2022) and Villanova University, USA (2025). Currently a postdoctoral fellow (PDJ) at PROTAX-CNPq. Has experience in the areas of Zoology and Parasitology, mainly working on the following topics: herpetology; protozoology; diversity, systematics and taxonomy of hemoparasites of the Phylum Apicomplexa.
